Hello, I am Claire
Project manager. Parent. Expat residing in Paris, France.
Several years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new rhythms, new expectations. Routine tasks felt heavier than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But slowly, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built QuietCopperArc
Online information was mostly corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in France.
What this site covers (and what it does not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in France
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site is not:
- A tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our time in France continues, and the learning process remains ongoing. As long as the information stays useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, please get in touch.
Best regards,
Claire
